Day 22: How to Clean the Steam Iron and Its Base Plate

We had steam irons that get dirty so easy.

How to Clean the Steam Iron and Its Base Plate: https://www.wikihow.com/Clean-the-Steam-Iron-and-Its-Base-Plate

What I Learn?

To clean inside the iron, you must use half cup of water and half cup of distilled white vinegar. Fill the area where the water goes in the iron with the solution. Turn it on heat. Follow the gif on how to use the solution to run through the iron. After that, you should empty out the rest of the solution.  Now put clean water in the iron and repeat the process over.

Now to clean the base of the iron. You must use equal parts of salt and distilled white vinegar. Be sure to mix the solution up. With a damp cloth, use it to dump into solution and wipe on the base. Keep cleaning the base of the iron as many times as you can. Enough to make it clean. Those holes in the base? Clean those with cotton swabs since those get dirty too. A store bought iron cleaner can be used if the base is non stick material.

Now it's time to maintain your iron. First ting to do is to remove any melted plastic of the base. Use dryer sheets to make the iron smelling nice and clean. Fill the iron with the right kind of water. Always check the power cord for any damages and more. Be sure to store the iron in a good place to keep from getting dirty and more.

Do I Want To Do This?

Yes! I might have an iron one of these days so it's useful to learn from this. I hope this is helpful to other people as well.
