Day 15: How to Paint a Cooler

Hey... We should get a different color of the cooler! Ah... it's just dull blue. Let's paint it!

What I Learn?

First thing you gotta do is prime the cooler. If there are any logos or anything, you must spackle it so that you can paint right over it. After that dries,  you must sand it until it's smooth. Then you can use a spray-on plastic primer. And you let that dry for 24 hours.

Second thing, you should pick the background color of your choice. With that, you use acrylic paints. After you get the whole entire service of the cooler covered, using a large paintbrush, of course. You must let the pain dry for 24 hours.

Third thing, you must find the design you wish to make your cooler look customized... It can be anything. You must have carbon paper, but if you don't any... use regular printer paper or tissue paper to transfer the design onto the cooler. After that, paint in the design. Be sure to let it dry for 24 hours.

Lastly, you should use a spray-on mod podge on the service of the cooler. Let that dry between 15 to 20 minutes. You should add a second coat of mod podge onto the cooler. Then let it dry. After that dries, you can now seal the cooler with clear polyurethane to waterproof the cooler. Once that dries, you can now use the cooler.
Do I Want To Do This?

I do not own a cooler but still, this is a cool idea to try sometimes. I might do this if I ever get a cooler that I wished that had a different color on it.
