My Final Fantasy 7 Remake Review

Warning, this post may contain spoilers.

I decided to take my time playing the game until the very end... I ended up staying up longer just to beat it. And boy... I had some good moments and some sad moments with the game.

Let's begin with the beginning... we see this whole scene with Aerith running away from something and her flower getting crushed. Then you have Cloud on top of a train... We are going to a mako reacter.

Now I'm not going into a whole lot of detail what Midgar and Mako Reacter and who the main characters are. But... you know... we are with Barret, Jessie, Wedges and Biggs in the beginning.

We go and try to bomb the reacter.... but it seems Shinra done it... trying to confuse Avalanche with it all. It seems interesting that now would be a good time to have this game back but as a remake... because of the whole idea behind it.

Now... let's talk about how I think about the beginning... it's really just like the original. I never played the original but I know the story very well... thanks to somebody whom I stopped talking to because of reasons.

The whole graphics were awesome. I actually love this version of the game better than the original... sorry but I don't think the story should be changed.

There's a lot of things that I thought were strange... like Roche... I didn't like Roche as a new character. He was an ass.

The scene where Cloud dressed up like a girl... wonderful.

I'm sadden when I have no idea what happened to Wedge since those things took him away... yes, I'm going way ahead of myself but in order to get along with my review... I must point out things here and there and all at random.

I knew Jessie was gone but what surprised me the most was Biggs... told you there were spoilers... that's why I warned you all in the beginning of this blog.

I'm sure there are parts that are canon. That's just how Tetsuya Nomura does things in games... believe me... I played Kingdom Hearts to know.

There were scenes that gave a nod to Kingdom Hearts because how they were... like the jumping from building to building and the small jumps from one area to another.  Even down to Cloud slashing the buildings out of his way.

Canon is really high at the end of this game... you really have to play Crisis Core to know who the hell Zack is... Yea...

Now let's talk about each aspects of the game... like gameplay, graphics, story, and overall of how the game was to me.

The gameplay... let's just say there's a lot of pressing square moments... I mean... a whole lot. The bike scenes were the hardest for me because of the stubborn bike wanting to go this way and having to press a button to speed up the bike... That's two times in the game... never again. Though, I did played on Classic mode which made a lot of bosses easy to defeat... I didn't mind that. Like I said... pressing square a whole lot... This will get tiring after a while... especially if you're not used to pressing the square button that much. I didn't mind but my thumbs are sore as heck xD I was sad that I didn't get to play as Red in the game. :(

The graphics.... let me be honest... there were creepy moments. I think the game had time... just there may have been a few odds and ends of creepiness with the NPCs xD But other than that... the graphics were beautiful. The background in a lot of places were really amazing... I hope they continue the vast beauty of the background, especially with the other parts of the game.

The story... did I mention that there's a lot of canon moments? I think the story is perfect... besides... there were a lot of holes in the original that made people want to continue the game... yea... Crisis Core was a prequel to the whole entire game series. There were moments that were surprising. There were moments that you had to cry. The story may have been canon... it did give a nod to the original. Which is what makes this game perfect as it is.

Overall, I really enjoyed the game... I took my time... done all the side quests... and glad that Cloud began to open up... I think Zack saved Cloud for a reason... (yes, I have not seen the story behind Crisis Core... just know that Zack was the one that had the sword and Cloud got it xD) I will tell you one thing... I do recommend this game to anybody! If you're a noobie, play it. If you like the original, play it. It's just that good.

In the end, I was sad to see it end... but happy it didn't end with... yea... you know what that is. So... I will continue to wait for this game... and hope to play this version again later on. Thank you Tetsuya Nomura for having the chance to make this game.
